Prince Edward Island is an eastern province of Canada, within the geographical region of the Maritimes. This province is composed of the island of the same name and numerous other smaller islands. It is situated in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, north of Nova Scotia Peninsula, east of New Brunswick and west of Cape Breton Island. The landscapes of Prince Edward Island are mainly rural with only two major cities - the capital Charlottetown and Summerside, on the southern shores of the island.
