Live TV Streams

What the TV category includes

The TV category collects live broadcasts that are not classic webcams: television channels and studio streams, live information feeds such as maps and data screens, and transmissions from broadcast facilities. What they share with webcams is that they run continuously and can be watched online at any time.

Unlike a fixed camera, a broadcast has an editorial schedule: programmes, live reports, replays and breaks between events. Information feeds change as their data updates and are useful for following a developing situation. Some broadcasts are live only during particular events and show a placeholder or a recording in between.

Broadcast streams depend on rights and on the channel's own decisions: a stream may be restricted by region, replaced with another programme or taken offline without notice. Sound is usually an essential part of such streams, so it is worth checking that the player is not muted.
