Jalan. DI. Panjaitan, Jakarta Live Cam

This webcam looks over Jalan D. I. Panjaitan, a main road through East Jakarta, in the capital of Indonesia. A hotel block stands in the middle of the frame, and the road with its service lanes runs north to south past it.

This is part of the inner ring corridor, one of the roads that carries traffic around a city of ten million where the working population doubles it by day. Motorbikes fill the gaps between cars, and the service lanes take the local traffic.

Rain arrives most afternoons in the wet season and the road floods in places within minutes. Congestion here is the normal state rather than the exception.
