This camera rides in a taxi through Hong Kong, so the picture is whatever the driver is doing at the time. Streets, tunnels and queues at the rank all pass through it.

The taxis are colour-coded by where they may work: red for the urban areas, green for the New Territories and blue on Lantau, and they are not allowed to cross into each other's zones except to reach the airport.

The city runs about eighteen thousand of them, most on liquefied petroleum gas since a change-over in the early 2000s cut the street-level pollution sharply. Fares are metered and among the cheapest of any wealthy city.
