Vieiralves, Manaus Live Cam

The Vieiralves district of Manaus lies below this webcam, in the capital of Amazonas state in northern Brazil. Low blocks and shopfronts fill the foreground, and the taller buildings of the centre stand along the horizon.

Manaus is a city of two million people in the middle of the rainforest, reachable by air or by river but not by any paved road from the south. Vieiralves is a residential quarter known for its restaurants, quieter than the commercial centre by the port.

The overlay carries the local temperature, which sits around thirty degrees year round. Heavy rain arrives most afternoons and clears as quickly as it comes.
