Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia

Banská Štiavnica is a historic mining town in central Slovakia, set inside the caldera of an ancient volcano in the Štiavnica Mountains. Its old town and the surrounding monuments of silver and gold mining, including the artificial mining lakes known as tajchy, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The webcam is at the Salamandra Resort ski area in Hodruša-Hámre, in the mountains just west of the town.
